A FEW MORE TIDBITS ON THE EAGLES FROM CARL BAKER:
The birds are also waiting to fill spots on the roster with other team free agents cuts as of June 1st. so don't be disappointed if they stay at position 31 in the draft and take the best athlete available at the time. remember they have to restock special teams !!!!

They'll probably draft a quarterback in the late rounds to groom. They want someone to challange Koy Detmer. A recent article in the Philadelphia Daily news said here's some 1st round possibilities:

1.)
Khalif Barnes : - Washington - Offensive Tackle - 6-6 / 305.....40 = 4.9 - played left tackle for the Huskies. would be a great fit for the Birds. Can start immediately !!! Birds would have to trade up from spot # 31 to get him. They can do it with 13 picks; SOME THAT CAN BE TRADED !!!

2.)
Jammal Brown (OT/Oklahoma) - 6-6 / 316 .....40 = 5.0 - a right tackle at oklahoma. allowed only 2.5 sacks but had 346 knockdown blocks in 46 games.

Last week at a Hawaii press conference Coach Reid said that in drafting, he has a preference for offensive and defensive linemen!!!
